Dr. Daniela Albuquerque

Dr. Daniela Albuquerque, CEO of Revivaderm, hails from the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Graduating summa cum laude from the prestigious University of Brazil (UFRJ) with a degree in Ophthalmology, she developed a special interest in contact lenses, glaucoma, and oculoplastic surgery. Her passion for research led to the publication of several papers and participation in numerous studies, including a significant one presented at the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons Congress in Barcelona. Notably, Dr. Albuquerque played an integral role in the first radiofrequency study for dry eye patients, contributing to the development of the world’s first ocular handpiece for RF therapy.

Dr. Albuquerque brings her wealth of experience to Revivaderm, where her medical expertise enhances the treatments she provides. As the co-founder and COO of Integra Eyecare, she has coordinated numerous eye care trials both in Canada and internationally. Her innovative approach to eye care and oculoplastic surgery has made significant contributions to the field.

In addition to her professional achievements, Dr. Albuquerque co-founded a non-profit organization with her husband, Dr. Henry Reis, to provide ophthalmologic exams to underserved communities in Rio de Janeiro. They offer free consultations and surgeries during special campaigns, demonstrating their commitment to giving back. She also actively supports NGOs like the Foundation Fighting Blindness and the Third World EyeCare Society, organizing events, fundraising, and donating eyewear and medical equipment.

Dr. Albuquerque’s dedication extends beyond her medical career. As the Chief Operating Officer of Integra Eyecare and Clinic Director of both Integra Vancouver and Burnaby, she has developed programs to enhance patient experiences by incorporating a medical approach into the Integra Eyecare Centre.

In her spare time, Dr. Albuquerque enjoys dancing, traveling, and spending time with her family, including her beloved cat Alvin. Fluent in Portuguese and English, she is also currently learning Spanish.
